About WorkSource

WorkSource is a statewide partnership of government, education, and community organizations that offers a unique resource for businesses and job seekers: a “one-stop” for career development and human resources support. WorkSource incorporates employment services, skills training, and community services all in one package.

WorkSource is a proud partner of the American Job Center Network and part of our nation’s broader Public Workforce System supporting CareerOneStop for the U.S. Department of Labor serving job seekers, businesses, students, and career advisors.

WorkSource Seattle-King County is managed by the Workforce Development Council of Seattle-King County with support from regional partners.

How is it funded and why does it exist?

WorkSource is primarily funded by the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act  (WIOA) that was signed into law on July 22, 2014. WIOA is landmark legislation that is designed to strengthen and improve our nation's public workforce system and help get Americans, including youth and those with significant barriers to employment, into high-quality jobs and careers, along with helping employers hire and retain skilled workers.

In our region, we braid additional funding through government and private grants to facilitate a regional system.

What is the goal?

Align education systems, government agencies, and other community-based organizations with businesses to ensure workforce readiness with a skilled and job-ready workforce available to meet business needs, along with supporting a more diverse workforce, improving career pathways, and better income equality for underserved populations.

How can I get services?
